The importance of the non-ferrous metals industry: an indispensable industry
Steel, petrochemical, building materials and non-ferrous metals were once regarded as the first manufacturing industry, but they were not new foreign industries. These industries are considered to be high energy consumption and low profits, but in fact they are all indispensable industries. Just like in 2013, a steel mill owner said that their profit per ton of steel is indeed not high, and they can't even buy a bottle of Coke, but this does not mean that the steel industry is not good.
All industries have high and low ends, but this distinction is not absolute. Profits are high and low, and technology is high and low, but the industry is not high and low, and no one can be missing. Although cement looks gray, it is the basic material of the construction industry and is indispensable. The strength of special cement is comparable to that of cast iron, and it has the ability to repair itself. This technology has exceeded human imagination.
The steel industry is also very important. The core material of the ship is our own research and development of steel, breaking the Dutch monopoly. Although the non-ferrous metal smelting industry has high energy consumption and low profit, it is the basis of many high-tech products. For example, aluminum is a metal, metal global overcapacity, cheap, but aluminum is the basic material of many electronic products, including mobile phones, computers and so on. The electrolytic aluminum industry is also a very important industry. Although the energy consumption is high to despair, it is the basis for the production of aluminum. Aluminum is the basic material for many products, such as cars, airplanes and so on.
Therefore, we cannot simply classify certain industries as low-end or sunset industries. All industries have their value and importance, and no one can do without them. we should treat various industries as equals and strive to push forward the development and progress of each industry. Although it is generally believed that modern manufacturing has developed in a higher-end, finer, and smarter direction, in fact, low-end manufacturing still occupies an important position in the industrial chain. They are usually labor-intensive industries, such as assembly and processing, and are often regarded as the lowest level of the industrial chain.
